Mark a. Payne, CPA

Mark has served as a CPA at Payne, White & Schmutz for over 25 years. Mark is an alumnus of Southern Wesleyan University and Clemson University. Although he has experience with financial statements, auditing and taxation in many sectors, he specializes in non-profit assurance and taxation. Mark lives in Seneca with his wife Jan.

jason s. white, CPA/PFS, CFP®, ABV, CFE, CKA®

Jason has served at Payne, White & Schmutz since 2004, having previously worked at a large international accounting firm. He graduated from Clemson University with a degree in Financial Management with a minor in Accounting. Jason assists our clients with individual and business tax planning and preparation, government and non-profit assurance, business valuations, and personal financial planning. Jason lives in Clemson with his wife Angie and their children.

CHristian j. schmutz, CPA

Christian joined Payne, White & Schmutz in 2013 after nine years working at a large international accounting firm. He is a graduate of Asbury College and Clemson University. Christian specializes in non-profit assurance and taxation. Christian lives in Clemson with his wife Caryn and their six children.

Sharon Yoder, Staff Accountant

Sharon has served with Payne, White & Schmutz for over 20 years. During that time, she has worked in nearly all areas of our firm and is proficient in most accounting related activities. Sharon currently specializes in corporate income taxation and financial statement audits.

Dean Rosencrans, Staff Accountant

Dean joined Payne, White & Schmutz in 2009. He specializes in providing services for our individual tax and non-profit assurance clients. Dean lives in Easley with his wife Elizabeth and two children.

Duff McConnell, Staff Accountant

Duff serves our clients through assisting with government and non-profit assurance engagements and individual tax preparation. Duff lives in Seneca with his wife Tynette and their three children.

Joshua Hughey, Staff Accountant

Joshua specializes in non-profit assurance and taxation. He lives in Seneca with his wife and two daughters. 

Laura Willis, Enrolled Agent

Laura provides customized bookkeeping and accounting services to businesses and non-profit organizations. Laura is also a federally-authorized tax practitioner that assists clients with personal and corporate tax matters.

Taylor Rogers, Staff Accountant

Taylor provides customized bookkeeping and accounting services to business and non-profits. Taylor also assists with payroll services and client document transfer and correspondence.

John Henschen, Staff Accountant

John serves our clients through assisting with government and non-profit assurance engagements, individual and corporate tax preparation, and personal financial planning. John lives in Clemson with his wife Courtney and their five children.

Josh storms, Staff Accountant

Josh specializes in non-profit assurance and taxation. He is a graduate of Clemson University and is pursuing a seminary degree. Josh lives with his wife in Pendleton.

Bonnie Gaillard, Office Manager

Bonnie serves as our office manager, assisting clients with document transfer and correspondence. She also assists with firm marketing efforts, payroll services, and assists the partners with administrative duties.
